I am female and have travelled in Australia and Malaysia without problems on my own and loved them both and I know Maneki-Neko who is also female travels in Thailand as well as many other places solo and loves it. Any place is dangerous if you are stupid about your own safety, but if you are sensible, you can manage most places.
