Here are some of the best moments of deciding to embrace a life of unemployment — or rather, in most cases, a life of freedom from The Man. John Mahoney makes for one of the worst movie bosses of all time as the host of an intolerably cheesy talk show, with Winona Ryder playing his emotionally abused assistant. Lemmon plays an executive who tries to rise in the ranks of his company all the way up to the 27th Floor, in fact by letting the higher-ups use his apartment for trysts; things get complicated when he embarks on a romance of his own and starts to realize that the whole arrangement is rather, well, gross. The end is near.

‘Need for Speed’ (2013) Movie Review

Need for Speed is junk. Great, what else do you have for me? A ragged plot, thin characters, a villain Dominic Cooper that may as well be a Hanna Barbera character and Michael Keaton explaining every aspect of the plot… To whom?

From where? Who is this guy and how does any of this make sense? Game over… right? Insert Imogen Poots as a love interest, Rami Malek inexplicably stripping naked as he quits his job, destroy a plethora of impressive vehicles, steal a military helicopter and you have yourself a film.

How is the stupidity of this movie any different than the Fast and Furious franchise? At least the end goal in the Fast films makes logical sense based on the unrealistic world in which it is set. Tobey could have challenged Dino to a Ballroom dance off and it would have made as much sense. If the excuse to watch Need for Speed and the only way to enjoy it is to find hand-clapping, drooling amusement in the racing sequences alone then a couple of two minute trailers should satisfy your needs.

And for over two hours no less? Try again. By Brad Brevet. Show Comments. Box Office. Tuesday: May. Weekend: May. Most Active Headlines.

The Need for Speed movie is both great and terrible. I saw a screening of the film in Boston last month and what the minute action flick boils down is this: it is full of hits and misses.

Need for Speed is a sports action thriller film directed and co-edited by Scott Waugh and written by George and John Gatins. It is the film adaptation of the racing video game franchise of the same name by Electronic Arts. It tells the story of street racer Tobey Marshall, who sets off to race cross-country as a way of avenging his friend's death at the hands of a rival racer, Dino Brewster. Tobey Marshall is a former race car driver who owns his late father's garage, Marshall Performance Motors, in Mount Kisco, New York where he and his friends tune performance cars. Struggling to make ends meet, he and his crew participate in street races after hours.
