Ingredients to Make Bobbarlu Garelu:
1 1/4 cup bobbarlu (soaked in water for 4-6 hours, drained)
2-3 tbsps cup grated coconut (optional)
1/4 cup grated carrots (optional)
3/4 cup finely chopped onions
3-4 green chillis finely chopped
2″ ginger finely minced
1 tsp cumin seeds (optional)
1 small bunch coriander leaves finely chopped
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
Bobbarlu Garelu Preparation Method:
Take bobbarlu into a bowl and soak it in water for few hours. Chop onions and keep it aside. Take a coconut and grate into fine powder. Take some carrots remove the skin and clean the carrot grate into fine powder. Chop green chilies, coriander leaves and keep it aside.
Now take the soaked bobbarlu and remove the water. Grind it into fine paste. Add little water to it. Take the paste into the bowl and add chopped onions, ginger, grated carrot, grated coconut powder and coriander leaves, cumin seeds, salt and mix well.
Take the mixture and make it into small balls and press the balls with your hand into flat shape. Now keep oil for deep fry and then dip the vadalu into the oil. Fry them till it changes to golden brown colour. You can serve it as evening snack. Serve with chutney or sauce.
