Ingredients to make Pesara Pappu Payasam:
1 1/2 litre milk
3/4 cup Pesara Pappu (split yellow moong dal)
1 cup jaggery (adjust)
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
2 tbsp cashewnuts
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp ghee
1 1/2 cups water to pressure cook dal
1 1/4 cup water to prepare jaggery syrup
Pesara Pappu Payasam Preparation Method:
Take a cup of yellow moong dal fry it in a pan slightly and cook it in the pressure cooker. Now heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts.
Fry it till it gets to light brown colour and take jaggery into a pan with water and get boiled. Now take out the cooked dal and mash it softly.
Take a bottomed vessel and boil the milk. Add the mashed dal and mix well. Keep it in a medium flame and now add the jaggery syrup to it.
Stirring it slowly on a medium flame. Add the cardamom powder and roasted cashew nuts to it.
Now you can switch off the flame and serve Pesara Pappu Payasam warm or cool. Pesara Pappu Payasam tastes good when it is warm or cool.
