Ingredients to make Capsicum Pachadi:
3 big capsicums, washed and cubed
8-10 green chillis, chop into big pieces (you can adjust according to your taste)
2-3 tbsp tamarind paste (you can adjust according to your taste)
1 large onion, finely sliced
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (optional)
1 tbsp minapappu (urad dal / split black gram dal)
1/2 tbsp senaga pappu (channa dal)- optional
1-2 dry red chillis
big pinch asafoetida/inguva/hing
few fresh curry leaves
1 tbsp oil
Capsicum Pachadi Preparation Method:
Take capsicums and chop them finely. Chop some green chillies and keep it aside. Take pan heat oil in a pan and add green chillies fry them for a minute. Remove from the pan and keep it aside to get cool. Now add the capsicum pieces and fry it well. Switch off the flame and let the capsicums gets cool.
Take the fried green chillies, capsicum pieces and tamarind paste, Grind it into fine paste and keep it aside. Now take another pan and heat oil, add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Now add some mustard seeds and dals fry for few minutes.
Add sliced onions and fry it till it changes into golden brown colour. Take the grinded capsicum and green chillies paste and fry it with onions on medium flame till it cooks. Add salt to taste. Cook it till the oil comes out. You can store this pachadi for few days. Store it in the fridge. Serve Capsicum Pachadi hot with rice. While eating add ghee for more taste.
