In the list of vegetables, green chillies play a role in spicing the dishes. Green chillies have different benefits. This recipe is very easy and very tasty. This is usually used as munching in food. This recipe is not actually Andhra recipe. Majjiga Mirapakaya is famous in Tamilnadu, Kerala, Karnataka and some parts of north india.
Ingredients to make Majjiga Mirapakaya :
1 Kg Large Green Chillies
1 kg Curd
Salt To Taste
2 tsp Turmeric Powder

Majjiga Mirapakayalu is a quick recipe. To do this select long and big green chillies. Wash then thoroughly and dry them for at least one hour.
Take a sharp knife and make slits along the centre of the chillies vertically. Take a bowl and add curd into this and add few spoons of turmeric and few spoons of salt depending on the number of chillies and mix them thoroughly.
Once the curd is ready add the green chillies into this curd and let them soak for 24 hours. Cover the lid and keep it undisturbed.
After 24 hours, the green chillies change their colour. Now mix them well again.
Take a plastic sheet or a clean cloth and wipe it with a cloth.
Take out the chillies from the curd and place them on the sheet. Dry them in direct sunlight for on whole day.
Don’t throw the curd. In the evening take these dried chillies and soak them for another 24 hours and in the next day, take plastic sheet and dry them in the sunlight for whole day.
This time you need to dry them continuously for two days without soaking in curd.
Once the chillies are completely dried, collect them and then store them in a container. That’s it, majjiga mirapakayalu are ready.
You can take these and fry them in oil and eat with curd or sambar.
This adds crunchy and spicy feel to your curd meal. They last for long time till they are protected from moisture or water.
